About the project
rossogranada supports artistry in all its forms.
We believe in the power of hands-on skills and the value of the contemporary crafted object. This includes the craftsmanship of various plastic arts and artisanal trades.
The group show features unique, handcrafted clay objects especially commissioned for the occasion. The participating ceramicists are Iasonas Damianós, Maria Economides, Athena Kontonikolaki, Maru Meleniou, Kallia Panopoulou, Myrto Papadopoulou, Yiorgos Trichas and Melina Xenaki.
It is in our endeavours to showcase these important practices, and support emerging and established artists from all over the world. It is this quality of diversity that structures the core of our mission as an art catalyser and inspires us to continue to explore the infinite realm of creativity.
We are delighted to present our first project from this exciting new adventure as part of London Craft Week in May 2023. Resilient Clay: Contemporary Ceramicists From Athens is a collaboration between rossogranada and Invisible Collection. Together we present an exhibition on contemporary ceramicists from Athens, a city with a pottery tradition that traces back to the 6th century BC, when the extraordinary Attic vases appeared. The display features a select group of ceramicists, from established to emerging, all showcased in London for the first time.
